Suzhou

Originally founded in 514 BC, Suzhou has over 2,500 years of rich history, and relics of the past are abundant in this day. The city's canals, stone bridges, pagodas and meticulously designed gardens have contributed to its status as one of the top tourist attractions in China. Since the Song Dynasty (960-1279), it has been an important center for China's silk industry. The classical gardens in Suzhou were added to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997 and 2000.
Suzhou is often dubbed the "Venice of the East" or "Venice of China"

Hangzhou

The city of Hangzhou lies about 180 km south west of Shanghai and is the largest city and capital of Zhejiang province. The first record of this city dates from 220 BC when it was first made a part of the Chinese empire under the Qin Emperor, Ch'in Shih Huang. 
Known as one of the seven ancient capitals of China, it lays ant the southern end of the Grand Canal linking it to Beijing. The most impressive feature in Hangzhou is the west lake scenic area in the west end of the city. Surrounded by many pagodas, temples and ancient buildings, it has been an inspiration for garden designers, artists and poets for over a thousand years. It was made a second world Heritage site on 2011.

Nanjing

Located in the lower Yangtze River drainage basin and Yangtze River Delta economic zone, Nanjing has long been one of China's most important cities. It is recognized as one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China. It was the capital of Wu during the Three Kingdoms Period and the capital of the Republic of China prior to its flight to Taiwan during the Chinese Civil War. Nanjing is also one of the fifteen
sub-provincial cities in the People's Republic of China's administrative structure, enjoying jurisdictional and economic autonomy only slightly less than that of a province. Nanjing has long been a national centre of education, research, transport networks and tourism. The city will host the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics.

Shanghai

Shanghai is the largest city by population in the People's Republic of China and the largest city proper by population in the world. It is one of the four province-level municipalities of the PRC, with a total population of over 23 million as of 2010.[9] It is a global city, with influence in commerce, culture, finance, media, fashion, technology, and transport. It is a major financial center and the busiest container port in the world. A truly cosmopolitan city, Shanghai has a thriving expat community that allows you to experience food and cultures from around the world. Shanghai also has many attractions such as The Bund river area, The Shanghai Museum, The Urban Planning museum, Yu Garden, Peoples Square Park, Fuxing par and Century
Park. A trip to Shanghai is not complete a=unless you visit eh French Concession area. With its tree lined streets, French architecture, many shops and eateries allows you to experience a quieter slower paced time in a very busy city.
